Frank Schweizer is Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and cross-appointed to Medical Microbiology in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Frank received his diploma at the University of Freiburg (1993) and a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Alberta (1998). He conducted post-doctoral work as a Fellow of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at the Noguchi Institute in Tokyo and at the University of Alberta before starting his independent career at University of Manitoba in 2002. Frank was promoted to Associate (2008) and Full professor (2013) and currently holds a Manitoba Research Chair in Antimicrobial Drug Discovery. Frank has published more than 83 papers and holds over 8 patents specializing in carbohydrate-based drug discovery with a focus on infection and cancer
