Dr. Patricia Gerber obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 1993. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency Program at the Children's & Women's Health Centre of British Columbia in 1994, and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UBC in 1997.
Between 1994 and 2008 Dr. Gerber served in various roles at the Children's & Women's Health Centre of BC: as Clinical Pharmacist and Preceptor in Pediatric Neurology and Psychiatry, as Education Coordinator, and as Residency Coordinator.
Dr. Gerber is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate PharmD program at the Faculty. She has been teaching the pediatric content in the Entry-to-Practice curriculum since 1994 and has served in the roles of instructor and course coordinator. Patricia's teaching was honored in 2011 when she was awarded the UBC Killam Teaching Prize and the Third Year Teaching Award and again in 2012 when she was awarded another Third Year Teaching Award.
In 2013 Dr. Gerber completed the UBC Faculty Certificate Program on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
Dr. Gerber serves in a number of leadership and scholarly roles at the Faculty. She is part of the Leadership Team for the development and implementation of both the Doctor of Pharmacy Entry-to-Practice Program and the Doctor of Pharmacy Flexible Program; she is the Clinical Coordinator of the Doctor of Pharmacy Graduate Program, and chair of the Faculty's Professionalism Committee. Since 2012 she has served in the role of Vice Chair of the College of Pharmacists of BC's Discipline Committee. Her current teaching roles and scholarly interests are in the areas of professionalism, professional identity and role, ethics, advocacy, and pediatric pharmacotherapy.

Course Coordinator, Pharmacy 501 (Advanced Pharmacotherapeutics) within the Graduate Doctor of Pharmacy Program (2008 – Present). Coordinated all aspects of curriculum design (case-based teaching format), scheduling, instructor selection, student evaluation, course & instructor evaluation.
Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy 533-4 (Experiential) within the Graduate Doctor of Pharmacy Program (2008 – Present). Coordinated all aspects of curriculum design, scheduling, preceptor recruitment and training, student evaluation, rotation & preceptor evaluation.
