个人简介

Dr. Samuel Mugo graduated with a PhD in analytical chemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada in 2006. He took a two year NSERC postdoctoral position at Queens University, Ontario, Canada (2007-2008) where his focus was development of microfluidic mass spectrometry platforms for clinical diagnosis. He has been an Assistant professor (analytical chemistry) at MacEwan University from 2008. At MacEwan University, Dr. Mugo is involved in teaching and curriculum development of analytical chemistry courses, environmental chemistry, Physical Science Field skills and independent research courses. He actively engages undergraduate students in his research. Dr. Mugo research interests include: development of miniturized analytical platforms for environmental and food analysis; development of value added products (especially biolipids and biopolymers) from plant oils and other agricultural feedtocks; development of microfluidic devices for blood lipid analysis.

研究领域

Fabrication of miniaturized analytical platforms for environmental and food analysis Development of enzymatic microreactors and microfluidic chips for lipidomics applications Sustainable and scale-able development of wax esters from plant oils using biomass derived catalysts Applications of cellulolic materials as nanocomposite for coating applications
