I am the Director of the weekly multidisciplinary melanoma clinic (MMC) at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, which is unique in Canada. In 2011, the Alberta Medical Association awarded me its Distinguished Service Medal in recognition of the establishment of this clinic. The MMC has complementary educational and quality improvement programs, including the tumor review board, journal club, biannual strategic planning meetings, and community- wide updates on melanoma. Dermatologic oncology and management of skin conditions with systemic implications constitutes the bulk of my practice. I provide leadership in the management of multiple dermatologic conditions not otherwise provided by other specialists in the province including comprehensive skin cancer management with an emphasis on melanoma and lymphoma, immunobullous diseases, diseases for which systemic treatments not available in the community (phlebotomies, Intravenous immunoglobulin, etc.), and the admission of dermatologic patients to hospital. I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1986 and did specialty training in dermatology from 1988-92. This was followed by a research fellowship in melanoma at New York University in 1993-94.
