DDS (Medical College of Virginia), MS (Florida State), Professor and Chair of Dentistry and Associate Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (1994 to 2003). Previous to joining the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Alberta, Dr. Raborn taught at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and the Tallahassee Community College dental hygiene program while he was studying at Florida State University. Currently an Emeritus Professor, Dr. Raborn has been teaching at the University of Alberta since 1982 except for a year and a half hiatus when he joined the University of Connecticut School of Dentistry to launch a new AEGD program (1990 – 1991). Dr. Raborn’s research interests are varied but have focused on clinical trial management with various compounds in search for a cure for herpes labialis or the common cold sore. In that regard he has received grants, awards and contracts worth more than one million dollars.
