个人简介

Following graduation in Microbiology from University College Cardiff, Roy undertook a PhD at Bristol University on the adhesion ofStreptococcus mutans to solid surfaces. Two postdoctoral positions followed, both investigating aspects of cell immobilisation within the biochemical engineering departments at the North East Biotechnology Centre (Teesside) and Loughborough University. At Wolverhampton, Roy’s interests in bacterial interaction with surfaces developed in relation to applications in the food industry. Of particular interest recently is the influence of adhesion on the susceptibility of food borne pathogenic bacteria to industrial disinfectants and detergents. Teaching responsibilities include contributions to aspects of applied microbiology at undergraduate and MSc levels. Pedagogic interests include the use and effectiveness of technology in teaching and learning.

研究领域
