Transient biomolecular interactions are at the heart of a myriad of cellular processes. Underlying all of these associations are structural, electrostatic and hydrophobic features that together define the interacting surfaces and allow a biomolecule to differentiate between potential ligands or interaction partners. My research focuses on inter- and intra-molecular interactions, their role in the structure and function of disease-related proteins, and molecular and chemical strategies for their characterisation and manipulation. To evaluate such systems I employ an integrated multidisciplinary approach that combines biophysical, biochemical, structural and chemical techniques.
