个人简介
I studied for my Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Stirling, Scotland (2011). I then continued on at Stirling to complete my doctorate where i used an integrative physiology approach to examine the metabolic, neuromuscular and performance responses to graded amounts of carbohydrate ingestion during exercise. I then went to the Medical Research Council Human Nutrition Research Unit in Cambridge as a Postdoctoral Research Manager. Whilst in Cambridge, I was also successfully appointed as a College Research Associate for Wolfson College, University of Cambridge. I then moved to the University of Westminster to undertake a Lectureship in the Department of Life Sciences in the division of Food Nutrition and Public Health.

My current research focuses on human nutrition and exercise metabolism. More specifically this has focused on metabolic responses to exercise with the provision of different amounts of substrates - specifically carbohydrate. I am interested in how we can understand and optimise nutritional recommendations to different populations to enhance human performance. More recently my research interests have turned towards understanding the physiological and nutritional demands of ultra endurance tasks such as ocean rowing and ultra-marathons.
