Professor Macdougall's main interest is in the development of Case-Based Learning curricula, particularly for graduate entry students and the role of the UK medical elective in modern medical curricula. He is also interested in the epidemiology of fatal and severe allergic reactions to food in children and runs a local Paediatric Allergy Service at University Hospital, Coventry.
