个人简介

Alasdair Campbell completed his undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering (Cambridge) in 2003. He subsequently read for a PhD in Chemical Engineering, which was awarded in 2007. His doctoral thesis was entitled, “The Effects of Natural Convection on Low Temperature Combustion.” This work was awarded the Danckwerts-Pergamon Prize for the best dissertation produced in the Department of Chemical Engineering in 2007. After the completion of his PhD, Dr. Campbell served as the Hertha Ayrton Research Fellow in Chemical Engineering at Girton College, Cambridge from 2007 until 2012. During this time he focussed on experimental and theoretical investigations of buoyant reactive flows.

研究领域

My research is concerned with experimental and computational investigations of buoyant, reactive flows. My work has focussed on understanding the interaction of fluid mechanics and chemistry on a fundamental level. My research thus far, can broadly be split into work on two physical systems, i.e. turbulent reactive plumes, and the effects of natural convection on combustion, and related reactions.
