During my PhD I investigated how a new anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid, namely 5-tetrahydrocorticosterone, works at molecular level to reduce skin inflammation without causing the same side effects (i.e. skin thinning) shown by other classically used steroids such as hydrocortisone. In the position I am now holding, I will be investigating the immunopeptidome of cells originating from devil facial tumour desease (DFTD) in order to find candidate peptides to use for the development of a vaccine.
