研究领域
Nramp1 controls proliferation of intracellular pathogens and encodes an intracellular divalent cation (including ferrous iron) transporter. Its role in iron transport within the macrophage, particularly erythrophagocytosis, and its regulation by haem at the level of gene transcription are being examined.
Viral proteins effect macrophage function. The roles of HIV-1 Tat and Nef are being examined using cell transfectants.
