个人简介

Since joining SHTAC in 2006, Petra has contributed to a number of Technology Assessment Reports for NICE, including corticosteroids for chronic asthma, Topotecan for small-cell lung cancer and Aripiprazole for the treatment of schizophrenia in adolescents. She has also contributed to NIHR HTA Programme funded evidence syntheses including the clinical and cost-effectiveness of methods of earwax removal, bone-anchored hearing aids for people with bilateral hearing impairment and the treatment of severe acute malnutrition in young children. In addition, Petra has worked on a systematic review for the Cochrane Collaboration on interventions for encouraging sexual behaviours intended to prevent cervical cancer. Between September 2006 and July 2007, Petra provided research support to the Pharmaceuticals and the Therapeutic Procedures Panel for the NIHR HTA Programme. Prior to joining SHTAC as a part-time researcher in 2006, Petra was the primary researcher conducting the human side of a cross-disciplinary study at the University of Southampton funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, investigating the effects of colds on human cognition. Petra has a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology (2003) and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (2004), both from the University of Portsmouth.
