个人简介

Geoff has contributed to several evidence syntheses, including inhaled corticosteroids for asthma, magnesium sulphate for atrial fibrillation, education models for type-2 diabetes, behavioural programmes for management of sexually transmitted infections in young people, and the management of weight in adults. He has also contributed to the appraisal of pharmaceutical industry submissions to NICE as part of the Single Technology Assessment Programme. Geoff has an interest in critical appraisal and has previously been involved in systematic reviews in health research (the NHS EXTEND project) as well as in ecology and ecotoxicology. He is currently an invited member of a European Food Safety Authority Working Group on Systematic Reviews, which is developing guidance on the application of systematic review methodology in the area of food and feed safety. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE) Library of Systematic Reviews. Geoff received a BSc (Hons) in Biology from Imperial College in 1984 and was awarded a PhD in ecology and ecotoxicology at the University of Southampton in 1989. Since then, he has been the principal investigator on eight research projects concerning environmental impacts of pesticides and has authored various peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international meetings.
