个人简介

Mr Bhome qualified in Medicine from UCL Medical School with distinction, having received a first class intercalated BSc in Pharmacology. His undergraduate research focussed on inflammatory signalling from adipose tissue and interleukin-6 generation in particular. Based on these achievements he was appointed to an Academic Foundation post at Imperial College London in 2010 and then an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in General Surgery at the University of Southampton in 2012. In 2015 he was awarded a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Training Fellowship to complete a PhD under the supervision of Professor Alex Mirnezami at the Southampton CRUK centre. Mr Bhome’s research interests are in the field of colorectal tumour microenvironment, especiallty the role of the stroma in influencing cancer progression. He is investigating the role of exosomes as transporters of deregulated microRNAs and his work has been presented at several international meetings and has received grant funding from CRUK (Research Bursary) and British Council Israel (Nanoscience Fellowship).
