个人简介

Dr Jenny Baverstock is an Academic Research Coordinator within the Faculty of Health Sciences (job share). This role involves coordinating the Research Excellence Framework (REF) plan; project managing research activity and objectives in line with the Faculty Research Strategy; providing support to the Faculty Clinical Academic Fellowship Training programme. Jenny has a background in biomedical research and has worked in several research administration roles (Medical Research Council 1993-2001; NHS Research Networks 2001-2014). Her recent academic research projects have involved palliative care and urgent care in the NHS. Enabling change is fun! My current role involves coordinating the Research Excellence Framework (REF) plan; project managing research activity and objectives in line with the Faculty Research Strategy; providing academic support to the Faculty Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship programme. I have a background in biomedical research with a D.Phil (Oxford, 1991) in vision biochemistry and postdoctoral research in vision (Birkbeck) and pain research (nociception) at UCL (1991-93). I have worked in several research administration roles: MRC Headquarters London (peer review; establishment of research units eg Prion Unit, UCL; corporate affairs including research policy, bioethics and parliamentary liaison) (1993-2001), the Wessex Primary Care Research Network (2001-2006; establishing research trials in primary care and working on academic projects) management roles in three NIHR research networks supporting recruitment to a wide range of clinical trials (pharma and publicly-funded research).
