个人简介

I am an academic occupational therapist and applied health researcher, with research interests in falls and falls prevention for older people, support for self-management with people with long term conditions more widely, applied health research methods and public involvement. I have been the lead or co-applicant on research grants worth over £4m, working with interdisciplinary health research teams. I am employed as a Principal Research Fellow in the NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) Wessex, to lead patient and public involvement (PPI) across our research and implementation themes. I value and enjoy the opportunity to work together with our six PPI theme champions and other CLAHRC Wessex public contributors. I chaired the national College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Older People from 2009-12. In 2012 I was invited to deliver the Elizabeth Casson Memorial Lecture at the College’s annual conference, and also delivered the keynote lecture at the Occupational Therapy Australia annual conference in Melbourne in 2015. I was awarded a Fellowship from the UK College of Occupational Therapists in 2014. I have honorary positions at Charles Sturt University, NSW, Australia (Adjunct Associate Professor) and London South Bank University (Visiting Professor).
