Mrs Diana Fernandes is a teaching laboratory technican in the School of Chemistry, University of Southampton Diana graduated in Biochemistry, University of Porto, Portugal in 2008. After working in Portugal as laboratory technician in the pharmaceutical industry, she moved to England in 2013 to take a role as teaching laboratory technician in the chemistry department, University of Southampton. Diana trains and teaches all undergraduate students – via provision of (technical) support and demonstration – in standard practical techniques and procedures, safe and efficient use of equipment. She provides an analysis service for the teaching laboratory (MS, NMR). Diana supports and co- delivers Outreach activities, e.g. Fun Lectures, Chemistry Festival, Science Day exhibition, Twilight events. Diana was awarded with a Vice Chancellors Award in 2014 in recognition of my outstanding contribution to the University. In 2016 Diana was presented with a Volunteer Award for her contribution and help with the Science Day activities.
