Here at Sheffield Hallam I am a senior lecturer and I have been employed at SHU since 1998 and teach physics, radiotherapy technology, imaging in radiotherapy, research methods and supervise BSc and MSc dissertation students. I am the academic lead for simulation in education for the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing and have a particular interest in the role of virtual reality environments (VREs) in education – especially the impact of the Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training (VERT) initiative on learning and teaching. I have acted as the national lead for evaluation of the VERT initiative and am involved in ongoing research projects that continue to assess its impact. In addition to this I am also leading a research project assessing the impact of VREs on the development of spatial anatomical cognition.
