EXPERIENCE - Twenty years research experience in carbohydrate/protein biochemistry, molecular interactions, assay development, macromolecule purification/analysis, cell signalling and microbial adhesion. - First-hand experience of commercial science, including intellectual property exploitation and contract research as cofounder/director of university spin-out drug discovery company: IntelliHep Ltd. - Member of UK Glycoarrays Consortium, IBCarb Network in Industrial Biotechnology and Biochemical Society Local Ambassador. - Supervised ~ 50 honours project students and ~10 masters/PhD students. - Lecturing of protein and carbohydrate structure, purification, analysis and interactions at undergraduate and masters level with a focus on technical approaches (numerous nominations/shortlistings for university teaching, personal tutor, project supervisor and employability awards).
