Job title: Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and Pharmacy Practice I am a pharmacist with an established research profile in cardiovascular health and disease. I have been Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and Pharmacy Practice at Liverpool John Moores University since 2009. In 2016 I was appointed as Editor in Chief of 'Autonomic and Autacoid Pharmacology' My research interests include investigating clinical outcomes in cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on hypertension, dyslipidaemias and ischaemia-reperfusion injury. I am primarily involved in meta-analysis and clinical trials. In this work I am lucky to work with many international experts in the Lipid and Blood Pressure Meta Analysis Collaboration http://lbpmcgroup.umed.pl . I employ a range of research methods in the laboratory in addition to my interest in meta analysis. I am the author of several research papers and textbook chapters. I have conducted research at Cardiff University (UK), University of Surrey (UK), and the University of Regensburg (Germany). I am registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (UK). I am a member of The British Pharmacological Society, The International Society for Heart Research, The British Society for Heart Failure, The British Society for Cardiovascular Research and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education academy. Teaching Responsibilities I teach cardiovascular physiology, pharmacology and therapeutics on the MPharm. programme. As a pharmacist, I am also involved in teaching Pharmacy Practice elements of the course. I have responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate masters projects in addition to supervising PhD candidates.
