个人简介

Adam is a registered pharmacist and joined LJMU in September 200, following his PhD at Aston University. He is an active researcher in pharmacy and public health, with much of his work focussing on public health interventions and the role of pharmacy within the healthcare system. He has particular interests in addiction and abuse medicines and other substances, including alcohol and substances used for human enhancement. Adam is programme leader for the postgraduate pharmacy programmes, including two MSc programmes in Clinical Pharmacy, an Independent Prescribing Programme for Pharmacists and a range of Continuing Professional Development programmes. He leads on professional development, ethics and substance use teaching within the pharmacy programmes and teaches research and professional ethics, substance use and research methods. He is Associate Editor for the Journal of Addictive Diseases (http://bit.ly/JADCurrent), as well as acting as a reviewer for range of health journals including British Journal of General Practice; BMJ Open; Research in Social & Administrative Pharmacy; Journal of the American Pharmacy Association; Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics; Journal of Substance Use; International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy; International Journal of Pharmacy Practice; and Journal of Public Health. Adam is a current member of: Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Conference Research Panel; NIHR, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme Elective and Emergency Specialist Care Topic Identification, Development and Evaluation Panel; and The British Council Researcher Links & Newton Fund review panels. In addition, he represents LJMU on a number of North West England panels and workgroups related to postgraduate education and research in pharmacy. He also served as an Expert member of a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Public Health Advisory Committee involved in the review and update of the NICE guidance on needle and syringe programmes (PH52).
