个人简介

Mike Porter is a Senior Lecturer in the Organic Chemistry/Chemical Biology section of the Department of Chemistry. Research within his group focuses on the development of new methods for the synthesis of biologically active compounds, and the chemistry developed includes metal carbenoid reactions, novel sulfur chemistry, and sigmatropic rearrangements. Other research includes the preparation of antibacterial polymer surfaces (in collaboration with Prof Parkin), and computational studies into reaction mechanisms. He has worked at UCL since 1999 (1999-2006: Lecturer; 2006- Senior Lecturer). Prior to this he had postdoctoral appointments at the University of Texas at Austin, working with Professor Philip Magnus, and at the University of Liverpool, working with Professor Stan Roberts. He received his DPhil from the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Sir Jack Baldwin.
