个人简介
Dr Pilar Garcia Souto graduated with a BSc in Physics, majoring in Electronics from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain, followed by 2-years MSc in Information Technologies. She obtained a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL), while working in a multidisciplinary international project Smart tEchnologies for stress free Air Travel (SEAT) co-funded by the European Commission. She also worked in a variety of projects, e.g. an image retrieval engine like a Goggle for images, an automatic text classification system, or fever identification systems such as a wearable sensor for children or mass screening for airports –e.g. during Ebola-. Since 2007 Pilar combined research and teaching activities, and she is now at UCL Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering specifically working in the IEP Biomedical Engineering Programme. Her studies and research activities have provided her with a multi-disciplinary profile which is ideal for Biomedical Engineering.
