My group’s research is based around solving clinical problems by intelligent use of multimodal imaging data. This is divided between four themes: Optical imaging My main research area has been developing optical tomography for breast cancer and functional brain imaging of adults and children. It is currently supported by 3 grants, and a long-term collaboration with Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. Radiotherapy I am applying multimodality imaging techniques to radiotherapy, particularly as part of UCL’s new Proton Therapy Centre. Intelligent analysis of routinely acquired patient data Examples include neonatal monitoring, predicting cancer outcomes and examining risk factors for breast cancer. Multispectral imaging of historical manuscripts I am extending multimodality medical imaging techniques to recovering lost text in historical documents with the UCL Centre for Digital Humanities.
