Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is the most powerful method for elucidation of the structure of organic compounds, and most of our research involves collaborations in which we find out what compounds have been obtained in a particular reaction, or isolated from a natural source. We use dynamic NMR and molecular modeling to study the conformational equilibria of small molecules. Other applications are based on the measurement of diffusion coefficients by NMR.
