研究领域

Dr Ransons research interests concern the process of ageing which may contribute to the development of faecal/urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction in the elderly. In particular this research is focussed on central nervous and spinal nuclei, as well as peripheral neurons, that control bladder and bowel function. These studies have primarily utilised quantitative immunocytochemistry and electron microscopy to investigate age –related changes but are now moving towards the use of more specialist techniques involving laser microdissection and molecular biology
