个人简介

Upon completion of a BSc in Biomedical Science at Sunderland University, Dr Padget gained her PhD in Biochemistry at Newcastle University in 1998 and continued to pursue her research there until 2007 when she joined Northumbria University

研究领域

The role of DNA Topoisomerase II in macrophage maturation and as an immunological therapeutic target. Dr Padget's work is currently focused on establishing how Type II topoisomerases (topo II) facilitate transcription. In particular she is investigating whether changes in the transcriptome required for facilitating macrophage differentiation from monocyte precursors during the immune response are influenced by topo II. A better understanding of how topo II works in the immune response may identify possible new drugs for the treatment of immune disorders.
