I gained a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Glasgow whilst based at the Roslin Institute, where I investigated the molecular and cellular events surrounding steroid-induced growth retardation. Following my PhD studies I gained a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship investigating the epigenetic regulation of bladder cancer progression at the University of Sheffield. In 2009 I started a position as ‘Project Leader’ at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, KU Leuven, Belgium, where I coordinated a translational research project investigating inflammation-associated skeletal tissue morbidity. In 2013, I moved to the William Harvey Research Institute at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and coordinated a research track utilising genome-wide molecular profiling to identify genetic and epigenetic biomarkers associated with inflammation and immune suppression

My research interests encompass the epigenetic regulation of aberrant cellular behaviour and subsequent skeletal tissue morbidity.
