个人简介
I graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1998 having studied Biochemistry with Applied Molecular Biology. I went on to gain a PhD in Chemical Engineering (UMIST)) under the tutorage of Professor Gordon Tiddy; examining the potential of surfactants and other multiphase materials in the phase separation and crystallisation of membrane proteins. Following two years in industry at Unilever Research and Development (Port Sunlight), I gained an interest in the role of Machine Learning in acquiring the most information from lab based experiments and returned to academia to complete an MSc in Bioinformatics. Post Docs in the labs of Professors: Douglas Kell, Simon Hubbard and Mike White followed, in which I applied Machine Learning and optimisation techniques in the design and analysis of a variety of omics experiments.
