个人简介

Dr. Agata Szlanta completed her undergraduate medical studies at the Université de Montreal in 2007 and then pursued family medicine and Care of the Elderly at Queen’s University. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, and has been a member of the Division of Geriatrics since 2010. Dr. Szlanta’s clinical work is entirely dedicated to the care of the elderly through a mixture of outpatient and inpatient activities at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital. Her outpatient responsibilities include the multidisciplinary Day Hospital Program, geriatric medicine clinics and home visits to frail seniors. In addition, she assists on the inpatient Geriatric Unit and occasionally on consultations at KGH. Dr. Szlanta is involved in teaching medical clerks, residents and Care of the Elderly fellows. She is the co-course director of a new exchange program for Canadian clerks studying at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her interests include improving health outcomes and quality of life of frail seniors by enhancing interprofessional and medical home services and establishing linkages with and offering consultation to local family health teams.
