Dr. O'Reilly is a cardiologist and general internist specializing in hospital medicine. He is a graduate of Memorial University and trained in internal medicine at Memorial and Cardiology at Dalhousie Univeristy. He has been at Queens since 2007 after a 20 year career in non-academic medicine at a regional hospital in Nova Scotia where he helped develop a cardiac investigation unit, multidisciplinary clinics for the mangement of patients with heart failure and a cardiovascular risk management clinic and a medical-surgical ICU. He was a leader in medical administration locally and provincially. He received teaching awards for providing ongoing medical education within his region. Dr. O'Reilly's areas of practice are echocardiography as well as inpatient cardiology and internal medicine and outpatient clincal cardiology. Since arriving at Queens he has served as the coordinator of cardiac ultrasound training and then the director of the cardiology training program until 2013.
