个人简介

Kevin Anthony Michael has an MBChB from the University of Natal in South Africa(1993), and a Master of Philosophy in Cardiology from the University of Cape Town, SA (2007). He trained in internal medicine and cardiology at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban, SA (1996-2000) and Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town (2001-2004), respectively. He was admitted as a Fellow of the College of Physicians of South Africa in 2001, and was awarded the Certificate in Cardiology of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (2004). He completed his Master of Philosophy in Cardiology while based at Southampton University (UK) and completed fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Queen`s University (2009). He was awarded his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Cape Town (2013). Dr Michael was appointed as assistant professor in the Department of Medicine in 2010 and is attached to the Heart Rhythm Service based at Kingston General Hospital. He retains and interest in complex ablation and cardiac defibrillation and has established a cardiac electrophysiology biomedical laboratory to advance experimental research and development in this field at Queen`s University. He also has clinically applied research interests and has published book chapters pertaining to innovations in cardiac defibrillation and pacing.
