Dr. Ingrid Harle is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Oncology at Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario. Currently her clinical work includes in-patient consultations at Kingston General Hospital (KGH), an outpatient palliative medicine clinic at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, an ambulatory clinic at Hotel Dieu Hospital for patients with advanced non-malignant disease requiring dyspnea management from a palliative care perspective, and on-call coverage of patients receiving palliative care services at KGH, St. Mary’s of the Lake Palliative Care Unit and in the community. Dr. Harle is the Physician Lead for the Southeast Regional Cancer Program for the Palliative Care Program at Cancer Care Ontario. She is actively engaged in education at all levels (public, undergraduate, graduate, continuing professional development, faculty development) related to palliative and end-of-life care.
Dr. Harle received a Bachelor of Science degree followed by a degree in Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in the division of General Surgery, and also a Fellow of the College of the Family Physicians of Canada. In 2007, Dr. Harle became certified in the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Due to an interest in practicing medicine in diverse practice settings, she has provided medical care in the third world, rural Ontario and during the last 10 years in academic centers.
