个人简介

My main research activity is focused on design, synthesis and studies of novel organic p-functional systems, from small molecules to conjugated polymeric materials, toward their applications in organic electronics, optoelectronics and photonics. We are working on organic molecular and polymeric materials for electronic, optoelectronic and photonic applications. These interdisciplinary researches include design, synthesis and characterisation of novel materials, their physical chemical studies to understand structure-property relationships and investigations of synthesised materials as active components in various electronic devices. Current research interests encompass the development of functional p-conjugated systems with tailored electronic properties in view of applications in solar energy conversion, electronic and photonic devices, and nanosciences: novel methods of synthesis of conjugated p-functional systems; conductive, semiconductive and photoconductive p-conjugated materials (from small molecules to oligomers and polymers); charge, electron and energy transfer processes in p-systems; intermolecular charge transfer interactions in p-systems and materials with intramolecular charge transfer; electroactive p-functional systems, from strong electron acceptors to strong electron donors; organic nanomaterials, supramolecular architectures and self-organised systems; organic molecular and polymeric materials for light-emitting devices, photovoltaics (particularly, plastic solar cells), field-effect transistors, electrochromic devices, non-linear optics, nanotechnologies, sensors/biosensors etc. Career History: 2010– … Professor of Chemistry, LCRI Chair; School of Chemistry, Bangor University, Bangor, UK. 2007–2010 Reader in Chemistry; School of Forensic and Investigative Sciences, University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK. 2003–2007 Visiting Scientist / Senior Research Associate; Chemistry Department, Durham University, UK. 2001–2002 Invited Professor; University of Angers, France. 2000–2001 Visiting Scientist; CNRS–Angers, France. 1999 Visiting Scientist, Comissariat á l’Énergie Atomique, CEA-Saclay, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. 1995–1997 Alexander von Humboldt Fellow; Institute of Organic Chemistry, Würzburg University, Germany. 1989–2007 Senior Research Scientist; National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Physical Organic and Coal Chemistry, Donetsk, Ukraine. 1983–1989 Junior Researcher then Research Scientist; Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physical Organic and Coal Chemistry of the, Donetsk, Ukraine. 1981–1983 Engineer then Senior Engineer; Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physical Organic and Coal Chemistry of the, Donetsk, Ukraine.
