Primatology; Behavioural ecology; Ecophysiology; Reproductive ecology; Sexual selection I am a behavioral ecologist studying primate reproductive ecology and ecophysiology, sexual selection and life history strategies. My current work focuses on the costs of male reproductive effort in monkeys and apes. I also work with a long-term dataset on human health and reproduction from Cebu, in the Philippines, to investigate the biological correlates of male reproduction and the role of early life experiences in shaping adult immune function and reproductive trajectories in both men and women. My work aims to contribute to an integrated perspective on the variation in male primate (including human) reproductive trajectories. I combine behavioral observations and endocrinological sampling of wild and free-ranging primates with a variety of physiological markers that assess energy balance, physiological and oxidative stress, and immunocompetence.
