个人简介

I am an Associate Professor in the College of Human and Health Sciences. I lead the Mental Health team in the Department of Nursing. I also co-ordinate the Service user and carer involvement group for health professional programmes, ensuring the user and carer perspective is a key focus of our student experience. I was the first mental health nurse in the UK to be awarded a Fellowship with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). My NICE Fellowship has 3 strands: I am developing public and patient involvement initiatives in Wales in partnership with the Welsh Government, I am developing and promoting teaching resources to inform health professionals about NICE, and I have established the NICE student champion scheme in the College of Human and Health Sciences. Over the past 8 years I have led a number of research projects. My research focuses on service user involvement initiatives, inter-professional projects and mental health. I am currently undertaking PhD study exploring roles and identities in mental health nursing in a climate of increasing service user involvement.
