个人简介

Following a degree in Anthropology, I worked in a variety of educational, social care and research settings until qualifying as a social worker in 1986. After practicing generically in London, I specialised in adult care, then the regulation and inspection of residential care settings before undertaking further research and moving into social work education. From 1997 to 2008, I worked at Nottingham Trent University, and was Deputy Head of Department and programme leader for part-time and distance-learning social work undergraduate degrees. I am currently completing a PhD at Royal Holloway University of London on older people and domiciliary care, and maintain other research interests in sexuality, e-learning and reflective practice in social work. I have published in the areas of social care and sexuality, evidence-based practice, and social work education. My current teaching interests on the Undergraduate and Masters Social Work Programmes at Swansea University include working with adults, values and ethics in social work, the application of evidence in social work practice, and developing inter-professional educational links.
