Angharad was raised in Cardiff and educated at the first secondary Welsh medium school in Cardiff - Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf. She gained a 1st Class Honours in her undergraduate degree of Cell and Immunobiology at Aberystwyth University in 1989, before continuing her studies at Oxford University where she gained a D. Phil in Neuroscience in 1993. Angharad decided to take two post-doctoral research posts after completing her studies, one at Oxford University followed by another at The Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris. Since then Angharad has focused on teaching and has held posts at Trinity College, Carmarthen and Cardiff Metropolitan University before starting her current post with us at Swansea University in 2004. Angharad's role at the College of Human and Health Sciences mainly entails lecturing, leading practical sessions, revision sessions and setting and marking examination papers. Although not currently active in research, Angharad's field of interest is neuropathologies and developmental neurobiology.
