个人简介

Ioan has an MSc in Social Research Methods. He has worked in the field of Health Economics and health services research for the last eight years and has extensive data analysis experience. For the last eight years he has worked on several large scale studies and trials contributing to the health economic aspects alongside Ceri Phillips, Deb Fitzsimmons and Pippa Anderson. He has numerous publications and several poster abstracts accepted for high profile conferences in Dublin, Bilbao and Philadelphia, US. He has also delivered presentations at conferences in Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff and Swansea Ioan teaches aspects of Health Economics to undergraduate and post graduate students and contributes to a module on Health Economics with Deb Fitzsimmons for the BSc in Health and Social Care course. Ioan has co-led a number of studies based in Swansea and elsewhere; recent completed work includes the health economic analysis for the Seal Or Varnish study – A randomised trial to determine the relative cost and effectiveness of pit and fissure sealants and fluoride varnish in preventing dental decay; Lymphoedema Service Evaluation - an evaluation of the economic impact of the All –Wales Lymphoedema Service; and the Help Point+ evaluation – an economic evaluation of the Swansea City Centre Help Point+ Scheme which aimed to reduce ED attendances for intoxicated people in the Swansea night time economy.
