Darren Coombes was born in West Wales and spent his time studying at Aberystwyth University. Here he studied on a BSc Sport and Exercise Science programme. After graduation, Darren went on to study further at BSc level at Glamorgan University on the Clinical Science (Cardiac) course. He then moved to Carmarthen after taking up the role as Cardiac Physiologist in 2007. His time is mainly spent teaching, writing and marking assignments and supervising students. Darren's main role is as a lecturer within the Healthcare Science programme. Darren believes that the best part about his job is being able to teach students using his personal area of expertise. His advice to students would be that 'You get out what you put in'. He believes that students should work their hardest throughout education as this will benefit them post-graduation.
