个人简介
Pete works in the School of Life Sciences, providing direction on the use of TEL within the School. With a background in information systems and web development/programming, he gained a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems from Lancaster University and went on to complete a Masters Degree in Web Computing at Liverpool John Moores University (Thesis title: Web 2.0 Technologies in Higher Education) where he achieved a distinction mark. He also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Support for Higher Education (2010) and is currently writing up his PhD thesis (Lancaster University), which is on the role of electronic assessment in Higher Education, and the implications for policy and practice.
Pete’s previous role was as a Senior Lecturer in Computing at Edge Hill University, contributing to the teaching and project supervision on the Web Systems Development pathway. Whilst at Edge Hill, he was also a Senior SOLSTICE Fellow, which involved taking a pro-active and lead approach to develop, broaden and deepen the impact of technology enhanced learning throughout the faculty and across the University. He has also worked as a Research Assistant in the Institute of Cognitive Science at University of Colorado (Boulder), USA, working on the development of a Web interface for a system intended for use by social scientists studying climate change.
