Ian Jackson is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Science.
Ian is also a Practice Support Pharmacist for North Derbyshire and Hardwick Clinical Commissioning Groups helping provide medicines management services to NHS practices. He provides medication review clinics for four busy NHS practices.
Initially he worked in community pharmacy as a locum pharmacist in varied locations, including New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland as well as developing twenty new pharmacies for a leading UK retailer. He was a prescribing advisor to Lincoln South and South Holland Primary Care Groups giving prescribing advice to nearly fifty NHS practices. Ian has been working with several hundred NHS practices over the past fifteen years providing management management services. He has lectured on prescribing issues to several dispensing doctor organisations.
Ian has a detailed knowledge of natural medicines and undertook full-time training in natural medicines pharmacy for Weleda (UK) where he came the clinical pharmacist. He studied for a degree in herbal medicine at Lincoln University and became a medical herbalist. He has helped develop several novel herbal medicines products for both the UK and international markets.
