个人简介

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences, having joined the University of Lincoln in 2017. Before coming to Lincoln, I held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Tokyo (Japan), SOKENDAI (Japan) and Emory (GA, USA). I have broad research interests within animal behaviour, but am particularly interested in the regulation of social relationships in primates, carnivores and other animals. I have explored aspects of conflict resolution, cooperation, social cognition, and empathy-related behaviours from both ultimate and proximate perspectives. I have adopted an interdisciplinary approach, integrating concepts from behavioural biology and psychology, and also combining observational studies with controlled experiments under lab conditions. Department Responsibilities I teach on a variety of courses including Human-Animal Interactions and International Field Courses. Subject Specialism Animal Behaviour Qualifications Ph.D. in Animal Behavior — Complutense University, 2004 M.Sc. in Animal Behavior — Complutense University, 1999 Certification in Science Education — Complutense University, 1997 B.Sc. (equivalent) in Biology — Complutense University, 1996 Awards My research has been supported by a variety of sources including: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: MEXT (Japan) Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Professional Affiliations Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour
