个人简介

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences, having joined the University of Lincoln in 2011 on a NERC research fellowship. Before coming to Lincoln, I held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Glasgow, St Andrews and Exeter. I have broad research interests within behavioural and sensory ecology, but am primarily interested in the evolution and maintenance of visual and olfactory signals, from the perspective of both the signallers and the receivers. In addition, I work collaboratively on a diverse range of questions relating to animal groups, including predator-prey interactions and flight dynamics in insect swarms, the development, maintenance and consequences of animal social networks, and social learning. Department Responsibilities I am module leader for the level 1 course Research Skills for Life Scientists and the Research Methods course for MSc students. I also contribute to the Animal Behaviour, Evolutionary Ecology and Behavioural Ecology modules, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc, PhD) research students on a range of topics. Subject Specialism Behavioural and sensory ecology Qualifications Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice — University of Exeter, 2010 PhD Behavioural Ecology — University of Newcastle, 2004 BSc (Hons) Zoology — University of Newcastle, 2001 Awards Fellow of the Higher Education Academy — 2011
