个人简介
I am a Senior Lecturer in the Genetics Department in the University of Leicester, joining the university in September 2007. This followed postdoctoral research in Yale University, USA, on flower evolution and development and in the John Innes Centre, Norwich, on wheat grain development. I completed my undergraduate degree in Genetics and my PhD in Plant Molecular Genetics at Trinity College in Dublin. As well as continuing research in these areas, my teaching includes undergraduate Developmental Biology, Evolution and Ecology and also work on the Leicester Natural Sciences degree program. Undergraduate Biology and MSc. Molecular Genetics students carry out research projects in my lab. I am very interested in teaching issues in general and in university teaching policies specifically. As a plant scientist I enjoy promoting the field through involvement with the Gatsby Plants Program. I am also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
