个人简介

Chris Cane read Natural Sciences at Cambridge before researching for a PhD in molecular virology at the National Institute for Medical Research in London. After a couple of post-docs at the University of Warwick working on Semliki Forest and influenza viruses, he moved to the University of Leicester for four years, first as a lecturer and later a research fellow in the Department of Biochemistry. He then spent four years in the MRC Toxicology Unit at Leicester working on anti-oxidants and their role in resistance to infection. Following nine years as senior lecturer in human biology at the University of Northampton, Chris returned to the University of Leicester to his present post as Director of Taught Postgraduate Programmes in the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology. Chris was awarded a University Teaching Fellowship in 2010 “in recognition of exceptional leadership and for the development in postgraduate studies in the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology”.

研究领域

Chris’s research interests include educational transitions for undergraduate and postgraduate students (with particular focus on international students), student retention, and issues around reward and recognition of teaching and learning in higher education. He also co-leads the ReSULT (Research and Scholarship Underpinning Learning and Teaching) research theme in the College.
