个人简介

夏螢博士,苏州医学院医学系毕业后从事临床工作近四年,其后在原上海医科大学(现复旦大学上海医学院)攻读研究生,获得医学硕士、博士学位后留校任教,担任中西医结合和神经生物学讲师。1988年赴美国耶鲁大学接受博士后训练,6年后在耶鲁大学创建自己的实验室。他于1993被耶鲁大学医学院聘为副研究员(Associate Research Scientist), 1998年晋升为研究员(Research Scientist), 2002年被聘为耶鲁大学医学院副教授(Associate Professor)。2010年在美国休斯顿德州医学中心被聘为德克萨斯州立大学研究生院教授、德克萨斯州立大学医学院教授(Full Professor)、神经外科系副主任(Vice-Chairman of the Department)和学术委员会主席(Chairman of Research and Promotion Committee)。他于2016年受聘为复旦大学特聘教授及上海市针灸机制与穴位功能重点实验室执行主任,并兼任上海市针灸经络研究中心分子神经病学实验室主任。 夏螢博士早年的研究兴趣在于心血管调整、针刺原理、内阿片肽和其它递质的相互作用。目前,其实验室用多种现代技术研究δ-阿片受体的功能、缺血缺氧性脑损伤的保护、脑退行性疾患和针刺对神经系统疾病的影响及机理。自创建实验室至今,其课题持续获得美国国立卫生研究院、美国心脏协会、美国儿童出生缺陷基金会、美国大脑麻痹学会、美国史密斯神经病学基金会、美国赫曼基金会、中国自然科学基金委和上海市科委等机构的资助。 他多次应邀在美国国立卫生研究院、哈佛大学等世界知名医学机构以及国际会议讲学,并参与评审美国(如National Institutes of Health, US National Science Foundation, American Heart Association, US Civilian Research and Development Foundation等)、欧洲(如Scotland Medical Research of UK,Wellbeing of Women of UK,National Science Center of Poland等)和中国(如中国自然科学基金委、香港政府医药卫生基金委等)等地的科研基金和大量国际杂志的科学论文。 2020年,他和诺贝尔奖获得者屠呦呦教授等学者一起被授予首届Sheikh Zayed国际传统医学奖金质奖章。 2021年,他被联合国工业组织全球科技创新中心授予科技创新奖。

研究领域

夏螢博士早年的研究兴趣在于心血管调整、针刺原理、内阿片肽和其它递质的相互作用。目前,其实验室用多种现代技术研究δ-阿片受体的功能、缺血缺氧性脑损伤的保护、脑退行性疾患和针刺对神经系统疾病的影响及机理。
