个人简介
Biqiong Chen joined the Department in 2012 from Trinity College Dublin where she was a Lecturer for four years. Before that, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Queen Mary, University of London and Imperial College London. Biqiong obtained her PhD from the University of London in 2005 with a thesis entitled ‘Polymer-clay Nanocomposites’.

Dr Chen's research centres on the scientific understanding of polymer nanocomposites and the development of high-performance polymer nanocomposites for engineering, energy and biomedical applications.
The following types of nanocomposites in different forms (including bulk material, foam, hydrogel, nanofibre and nanosheet) are mainly investigated.
Polymer-graphene nanocomposites
Polymer-clay nanocomposites
Polymer-cellulose nanocomposites
