个人简介
Dr. Baggaley studied at the University of Sheffield obtaining a MChem with a year in industry in 2008 and a PhD in inorganic chemistry and bio-imaging in 2012. She worked for one year as a postdoctoral researcher between Prof. John Haycock (Materials Science and Engineering) and Prof. Julia Weinstein (Chemistry) at Sheffield. In 2013 she changed research field working with Prof. Mike Ward on supramolecular co-ordination cages. In 2014 she was appointed as a research and teaching associate at the University of Sheffield.
研究领域
My research interests focus on the development of luminescent transition metal complexes for bio-imaging applications. In particular, using bio-conjugation to create ligand architectures that will form water soluble transition metal complexes that localise in specific organelles of mammalian cells. We are interested in how these complexes behave in vitro and in solution; what are their emission properties (profile and lifetime) and how do they change with temperature, pH, solvent and O2 concentration. The main themes we are exploring are: Oxygen sensing and quantification using transition metal complexes and phosphorescence lifetime emission microscopy. Revealing the detail of cellular localisation of transition metal dyes using super resolution techniques. The research is intrinsically multi-disciplinary spanning: inorganic synthetic chemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy and cell biology.
